DJ King General — Full Biography

KING GENERAL

DJ • Executive Producer • Broadcaster • Sound System Veteran • Cultural Entrepreneur

Since 1992, King General has dedicated his life to music, culture, entertainment, and community. What began with a horn speaker, cassette tapes, and a deep passion for sound system culture evolved into a lifelong journey that has spanned more than three decades of creativity, innovation, and influence.

Born from New York's underground entertainment scene, King General built his reputation the traditional way—through hard work, consistency, word of mouth, and real-world experience. Long before social media and digital marketing, he was actively involved in private events, community functions, cultural celebrations, boat rides, nightlife events, promotional activities, and entertainment productions throughout Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Long Island, Suffolk County, Connecticut, and surrounding regions.

Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, King General became known within underground entertainment circles for his versatility, professionalism, and dedication to the culture. While many focused solely on performing, he invested in building something larger. He studied the business, built relationships, collected music, developed systems, supported artists, and created opportunities wherever possible.

His musical education came directly from the source. He spent years traveling throughout New York City collecting vinyl records from VP Records, Super Power Records, Jamaica Avenue, Brooklyn record shops, Bronx record stores, and countless independent music retailers. Through this process he developed a deep understanding of Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, Jungle, Drum & Bass, Soca, House Music, Afrobeats, and international music culture.

Over the years, King General participated in countless private events, community celebrations, boat rides, cultural festivals, nightlife venues, church functions, promotional campaigns, and special entertainment productions. His experience extends across multiple generations of music lovers and entertainment audiences.

His journey also includes opening events associated with major entertainment figures such as Funkmaster Flex and the late Fatman Scoop while continuing to build his own independent platform and audience. These experiences helped shape a career built not on hype, but on consistency, preparation, and long-term dedication.

One of the defining characteristics of King General's career has been his work behind the scenes. Beyond DJing, he has spent years helping develop artists, support businesses, create promotional strategies, organize events, contribute to branding projects, assist with entertainment concepts, and help others build their own platforms. Much of his influence has taken place away from the spotlight, quietly helping others grow while continuing to strengthen his own foundation.

This commitment to growth eventually evolved into a broader creative vision known as the Jungle Warfare Division.

THE JUNGLE WARFARE ERA

Inspired by Jungle Music, Drum & Bass, Sound System Culture, Dubplate Culture, Reggae, Dancehall, Hip-Hop, and underground music movements from around the world, Jungle Warfare is built on creativity, preparation, originality, and independence.

For King General, Jungle Warfare is more than a name. It is a philosophy.

It represents the ability to adapt, create, innovate, and thrive in an ever-changing entertainment landscape while remaining true to the culture that built the foundation.

As an Executive Producer, King General develops concepts, guides projects, supports artists, creates opportunities, and helps transform ideas into reality. His work includes artist development, multimedia production, radio broadcasting, branding, promotion, and creative direction.

Many of the projects associated with the Jungle Warfare movement are inspired by exclusive concepts, original productions, Jungle and Drum & Bass influences, custom-created content, and independent creative development built from years of experience within underground music culture.
